The Valley of Memories (ふたりの思い出谷♪, Futari no omoide tani ♪) is the location in which the Onii King was fought by Corobo. It lies at the end of the Dark Valley in the Onii Kingdom.

Geography[]

The Valley of Memories has high cliff walls with three distinct gaps that act as entrances: to the south is the entrance to the rest of Dark Valley, to the west is the entrance to Sunflower Plains, and to the north is a cut-through to Farmland. The north is blocked off by the Onii King's throne until he is defeated. Upon his return visit, Corobo is able to access the higher ledges via a slope to the east of the area. The entrances to the Sunflower Plains and Dark Valley have natural bridges that allow the ledges of the Valley to remain connected. Corobo can fall off the ledge onto a lower one to get an Art piece, and continuing along it to the very end will net him another. This tall ledge is also able to be jumped off to get back to ground level quicker, an unusual occurrence.

This area has distinct decorative iconography. The adits that the Onii live in are particularly numerous here, and the walls in which they are located are also peppered with purple torches, small rocks, broken pots and glowing, golden spiral markings. Several of these markings also appear on the pathway up the ledge, but there are two more that appear on the ground of the main area which are much larger: a thorny, snaking one and another that resembles the symbol for Bol. To the east of the throne is a formation of stones in the shape of an Onii's face. The Onii's recurring stone piles also appear here, sitting either side of both the southern and western entrances.

As with the rest of Dark Valley, this area becomes overrun with wild animal UMA after the Onii have left.

During the God Paper quest, a hole appears in the middle of the Valley, containing the Onii Bride, which guards the Speakers/Omegaphone, a part of the Flying Machine.

The Valley of Memories is dubbed by Princess Apricot, who finds the location to have sentimental value, as it was where she first met Corobo. This occurs in the 1 Wonder Spot to Go! quest, marking this location as the final Wonder Spot.

Trivia[]

  • This area is oddly called the "Abandoned Onii Grounds" on a sign. This does not make much sense, as the area known as the Onii Grounds are not even connected to this area. This strange similar naming is absent in other localizations like French and Spanish.
  • This is the only area where Corobo is able to freely fall off a two-story cliff, possibly to avoid backtracking around the entire path.
