The Population of the Kingdom of Alpoko is a statistic recorded by Records Minister Verde, found under Kingdom Info when she is called to the Throne. The population number also appears on a player's save file. Increasing the citizen population will unlock certain rewards and events.
The population can be increased by:
- Buying housing on the Kingdom Plan
- Marrying citizens to produce a Carefree Child
- Conquering one of the last four kingdoms and waiting three days for a citizen of that kingdom to emigrate to Alpoko
- Unlocking one of the three Secret Jobs
The upper limit for population is 177. This gives 170 slots for regular citizens, which can be reached through marrying and producing many Carefree Children, and 7 reserved special slots for each of the three Secret Jobs and four Immigrant Jobs. However, if this upper limit is reached and all Children are converted into Carefree Adults through the Royal School, then no more Children can be produced; further marriages will still result in the pot dropping from the sky but no Child will emerge from it. This means the player is locked out of the 5 Art Pieces that are hidden in trees.

| 60 | Dash Ordinance | The Dash Ordinance is able to be purchased under the Kingdom Plan. It increases the Life of all citizens by 1. |
| 70 | N1c3 K1ngd0m | The N1c3 K1ngd0m quest appears in the Suggestion Box. Accepting it will trigger a UFO attack in Castle Town during the night. |
| 80 | Give Pow Beans | Give Pow Beans is able to be purchased under the Kingdom Plan. It increases the Life of all citizens by 1. |

If a player does not buy one of these items while it is available, and then their population falls beneath the threshold due to the death of citizens, then the item will disappear from the Kingdom Plan. It will return once the population reaches the threshold again.
