The Rats are four rodents in Little King's Story. They first appear in the intro, shown wrecking Corobo's box theater. Corobo chases them away into the Dark Forest until he gets lost, stumbling on the Magic Crown in the process.
The rats then plague the inside of Alpoko Castle, usually at night, usually pestering Verde and sometimes pushing over Liam. Liam whistles at the rats to scare them away on occasion.
The rats do not disappear during the Animal Book quest, although an unused portrait for them does appear in the game's data.
Ending

Towards the end of the story, the rats play a special role.
The rats are revealed to each have a cosmic counterpart, and are collectively causing the earthquakes. The rats are led by the Gray Rat, often dubbed the Rat King by fans. Corobo then attacks the Rats to prevent the end of the world, causing the Rats to take the role of the Final Boss. The four rats are the Blue Rat, Yellow Rat, Red Rat and Gray Rat. It is theorised that each Rat represents one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse; Conquest, Famine, War and Death.
